Welcome to Avila Beach Golf Resort Discover

The Avila Beach Golf Resort is the most well-known of the Central Coast Golf Courses, and a wholly-unique golf experience for each of our guests. Designed by Olin Dutra and Desmond Muirhead and opened for play in 1969, we are located 3 miles off Highway 101, south of San Luis Obispo and northwest of Pismo Beach. Nestled in the surrounding hills and on the edge of the bay, the resort includes a par 71, 6500-yard championship course, extensive and beautifully crafted event facilities and a neighborhood bar that also serves tasty sandwiches and small bites.

The golf course has kikuyu grass fairways (think Riviera CC) and quick, classic bent grass greens. The front nine is situated on hilly terrain with small, often-elevated, smooth greens within oak-lined valleys. The back nine transverses a tidal estuary, with several forced carries over the water and multi-level greens to test your will and your skill. Golfers of all abilities will enjoy the challenge of this scenic course.

After enjoying your visit to our Golf Course, be sure to visit the many attractions our area has to offer. Avila's beach town is a stop you won't want to miss with its quaint restaurants, family beaches, aquarium, camping and deep sea fishing. Take your time venturing through Avila's shops and boutiques on Front St. located right next to the shore. In our summer months, April through September, Avila's Front St. provides a safe and fun Farmers' Market, where you can find farm fresh produce, tasty treats, and a get to experience serene ocean views. Perfect for family outings, Avila Valley Barn is just 5 miles from the Golf Resort and offers more farm fresh groceries, homemade ice cream, tractor rides, farm animals and much more. If you head North on the 101 you find the famous town of San Luis Obispo which carries a unique downtown shopping experience, and is home to the reputable Cal Poly State University.
