U.S. Open coverage on FOX

Jun 22, 2015 10:15 PM
The final round of the 2015 U.S. Open proved to be epic as Jordan Spieth won his second career major. This year's U.S. Open was the first one aired on FOX. As a golf fan and regular viewer of golf, I was not impressed with the coverage overall. I think Joe Buck was okay as the lead analyst but no where near the level of Jim Nantz and Dan Hicks. Greg Norman as the lead golf commentator was opinionated but not when it counted on Sunday when Dustin Johnson had his collapse on the 18th hole. Norman much like Johnson had many final round collapses did not offer any commentary when it happened. Kind of odd for lead golf analyst not to offer insight. The shot graphics were cool. It looked like something out of the EA Sports playbook. Also the leaders graphic only listed the top 6 golfers. I would have thought they could use the scroll like on the news for scoring updates. FOX definitely has a lot work ahead of them and hopefully they  will correct this for next year's coverage.
