Proper Golf Attire?

I recently sat down and chatted with a tour director and we got on the topic of "How to Dress when playing golf." Another person I spoke with you isn't an avid golfer, said that he is a bit intimidated by the way golfers dress.

What do you think is appropriate dress? And do you think the traditional way is getting boring? I know there are players on the LPGA that have spiced it up with lavish golfers, or tighter skirts, and LOUDMOUTH golf has designed some crazy shiz too.
