The British Open going to NBC and Golf Channel in 2017

Well, fans of Golf Channel on NBC, the wait without a major championship will be very short as NBC Sports and the R&A agreed to a new twelve year television contract beginning in 2017. As you know, NBC lost the rights to the U.S. Open to FOX starting in June. With NBC taking over the television rights to the British Open, we will see the return of network coverage on the weekend. I am sure NBC will show something similar to their coverage of the Premier League, Formula One, or Wimbledon. Well, in 2017, get ready to hear Dan Hicks, Johnny Miller, and Roger Maltbie call a Major golf championship once again.
