An Old Lady Struggles to Get Out on the Golf Course After the Winter

Feb 19, 2015 10:41 PM
I'm as keen as anyone to get the most from my game of golf but I have seen my form dip recently and I'm trying my best to work out what this is all about. Some of my fellow golfers seem to think that a dip in form is normal this time of year but I'm not so sure. I tend to think it may be more of a personal thing.

I was wondering if any golfers have experienced a similar situation and if there was anything that has helped? I'm not keen to go down the expensive lessons route but still want my game to improve as its really starting to knock my confidence out on the course.

After talking to my local pro he has suggested that what I really need is to get more practice time in over the winter months, which to me is a lot easier said than done. Like most golfers I'm one who could be described as enjoying the finer things in life, I mean I like to indulge over the winter months and don't really fancy the idea of standing out on a golf course for hours on end in the freezing weather. But after speaking to a few in the know so to speak I have been told about a new type of piece of golf equipment that can help you play golf in the winter months. I'm not talking about an all singing all dancing Galvan green wetsuit, I'm actually talking about something that helps you play the game of golf but away from the rain. The item I'm talking about is the golf simulator; this is a really new product onto the golf market and is one that has helped me practice from my own home over the last few weeks.

The collection of golf simulators can be quite expensive but I suggest you take a look at the entry level ones available golf and you may be surprised at exactly what they have to offer. I for one know that they have helped my game evolve further than I could ever have hoped. They don't suit all people but I'm pleased so far. Of course I may change my mind in a few months but all seems well at the moment and I have found my approach to getting back into the game of golf is now better.

My mind feels more focused on golf and I'm looking at it from a whole new perspective that of course helps when your husband is a seasoned golfer of 20 years. If all else fails I will stick to my usual role of being a fair weather golfer but I have to say knowing I have the golf simulator in my office to use at anytime has really given me come extra encouragement to get out and make use of my newly acquired golfing skills. It's a shame its only taken me 65 years.
