Comments: One of the best-kept secrets on the Trail. This course is surprisingly uncrowded, especially during the week. Other Trail courses get more publicity, but the greens at Silver Lakes are the toughest to putt on the trail. Even scratch players will 3 putt due to the large, undulating green complexes that produce severe breaks. The Bermuda greens are very grainy. A tornado several years ago wiped out most of the trees on the 3 9-hole courses, rendering many of the holes to be exposed to windy conditions. Can resemble a links style course on the side of a hill. Fairways are wide and bunkers are abundant. Also offers a 9-hole short course.

Comments: Got to play one of my favorite courses before graduating from the University of Alabama. This is the only golf course I have been to outside of Tuscaloosa. Overall I loved it. Big fairways, great greens. Slow greens which I am a huge fan. Very gritty sand that were in the bunkers. Didn't like that. Gorgeous course but pretty tough. Would not suggest this course to anyone who is just your average golfer. Very tough but very pretty.
