Comments: Great course, but it would help if you have someone that has played the course with you. The greens are a bit smaller than what I am used to and I needed to make quite a few one putts in order to save par. Only able to make about 50% of them so bogey it was. Staff was more than helpful in getting me out on the back nine as their leagues were going out the front.

Comments: This has to be one of my favorite courses to play in NJ. If there is a course where you should appreciate the set up this is it. As each hole is in the style of a famous architect, they all have their own distinct charactistics. Just a joy to play.

Comments: You will need to have your "A" game when you are playing here. If your shots stray too far off line, you are going to struggle to make bogey. The fescue is a bear and the greens can be a bit quick. Unfortunately, the day I played, they had aerated the greens and we weren't aware of it until we were on the first green. All of us in my foursome had inquired at the end of our round why there wasn't any notice on the website where you make the tee times. We were told that it wasn't policy. I had stated that most courses will give some type of discount the week that the greens are aerated and was told that they don't do that. I couldn't understand why this course doesn't use the same type of pins that Quail Brook uses as it would have saved me about 10 putts that day.

Comments: This is a short course from the tips. Holes 12 through 17 all have water that is in play. If you can hit your drives 260 - 290, you can drive the green on 13. If you come up 20 yards short, you're done. You don't need to hit driver on every hole and it is a smart play to lay up so that you have a full wedge shot to the greens. The par 5 holes either have a drastic dog leg or water in play so that it makes going for the green in two extremely difficult. I will go for the green in two on any par 5 except for this course. The risks just far out weigh the rewards. The only drawback is that there isn't a driving range to warm up.

Comments: I play this course on a regular basis. The greens have been in fantastic shape this year as they've switched to smaller pins that they use to aerate the greens. The front is a little more open than the back so you need to think a bit on the back nine. For the money you cannot go wrong with their county rates. All things considered, this is a great course even though it is a county course.

Comments: Had the good fortune to play the Lower Course in an outing recently. I was able to enjoy this course and all it had to offer. The greens were lightning fast, and the caddies were of great service with some of the reads that I couldn't quite see. They helped me with reads on 4 or 5 of the greens where there were 2 or 3 breaks to the hole. I even made a 72' putt thanks to the read the caddy gave me. You needed to be in the fairway or you would pay the price. The first cut wasn't that bad (still difficult), but if you were in past there, just take your medicine and hope for bogey. All of the staff were great; polite and helpfull. It was the round of a life time and I had a blast.
