Comments: Claims to be the gem of mid michigan and did not disappoint. Well maintained and very friendly staff made this course a joy to play. A fair course that can challenge any level golfer with some holes for the big hitters and some you really need to think your way through. This course has changed the standard by which I judge all others

Comments: This is a short course but not without its challenges. I found the staff friendly and very accommodating to me as they had a sunday morning league starting as I got there and a large scramble tournament starting just as I got to the end of my round. The course is in amazing shape and and requires a little more thinking as you play but is a fair course too. It can be played by all levels of golfer and still provide a good day out.

Comments: A nice course that plays well and is well maintained but the cart paths can be a little confusing between some of the holes. The staff are friendly and willing to help you out if they can. there are a few challenging holes but for the most part it can be fairly easy to keep the ball in play and have a good day out.

Comments: This is a review of the east course at forest akers. I have played this course a few times now and find it to be a nice course with a mix of open and tree lined holes to enjoy. The facilities out here are very good with a covered and heated driving range for those cold winter days. It can get a bit busy on the course being so close to the university so it is always best to make sure you have a tee time booked or you could be disappointed if you try and just turn up to play.

Comments: My first thought when I heard about this course was that it had 27 holes as a gimmick but after playing I now know different. Holes 1 to 5 and then 15 to to 27 are parkland style holes while 6 to 14 are links style golf and all holes are very well maintained with the links not being as forgiving if you miss the fairway and some very large bunkers to navigate. The parkland side however lets you find your errand shot but will often have a tree between you and your target as punishment. I have thoroughly enjoyed playing this course but not managed to do all 27 holes in a day yet. the staff are friendly and willing to help how they can. there are also a few places on the course to grab a snack weather permitting.

Comments: While this was a nice course the fairways could really do with a bit of a trim. It was like hitting out of semi rough on some of the holes as the had grown out that long. Also every green has two holes on it. One regulation size and one over size. I like this idea as it can bring more novices to the game but depending on your approach shot the bigger hole can sometimes be between you and the regulation pin. (Not on many holes but I had this problem on the first hole.) Be prepared for wind too. It is a rather open course and the wind blows quite hard out there being so open. Update 6/22/14 I decided to play this course again today and found it a lot nicer to play. The larger holes have now gone I was told they had been put in for a tournament the last time I visited. the staff are very friendly and happy to help make your visit better. It is still a little hard to see where the fairway ends and the rough starts round the course but it is in good condition and nicer to play on a not so windy day.

Comments: I have to say that if you are looking for a pro shop full to bursting with all the newest stuff then this club is not for you. The course on the other hand has to be one of the best in the area, It is well maintained and not just by the staff. While playing I couldn't help notice the lack of pitch marks on the greens that seem to be left by players on some of the more expensive courses in the area. I started my round before 10am on a weekday which got me the early bird special of 18 holes for $18 including cart fee. For this price there really is not a better course around here.

Comments: This course was in very good condition with nice fairways (shame I didn't get to play off many of them.) and greens in good condition with very few pitch marks to be seen. There was only one bad green on the course and it was explained to me that it had frost damage and was under repair before I started my round. The staff are very friendly and willing to see that you are happy as best they can during your round. Food and drink facilities are very nice with a fully stocked bar to drown your sorrows after a bad round.
