Comments: They had lost most of their greens when I played there. One hole was completely closed for repair.

Comments: Decent layout with some unique holes. Fairways are good and greens are better than most lower-end munis. Bunkers aren't maintained. Hilly front nine won't yield many flat lies. Back 9 is flatter.

Comments: This course is tucked away and probably gets the least amount of play on the Trail. Never hard to get on and never crowded. The Loblolly 9 is about as close toAugusta-like holes as most of us will ever play.

Comments: Accuracy off tee a must as fairways are tight and tree-lined. Check maintenance schedule. Bent grass greens are a little rough after they've been punched. Par-5 16th hole is memorable.

Comments: Home to 2 PGA Championships and current home to a Champions Tour major, it is as advertised. Always ranks among the country's top 150 courses. Beautifully manicured. Fair test. Good shots are rewarded but poor shots will prove costly. The tee shot on #14 is one of the best you'll ever experience. Greens are immaculate and if you ever get the chance to play it rent a caddy. It's worth it.

Comments: An old city-owned muni that was the original Birmingham Country Club, is now managed by Honors Golf after redesign. Really fun course to practice your iron and short game since it is space-challenged by its location in a downtown neighborhood. Leave the driver in the bag, most tee shots don't require it. Hilly, but the bent greens are among the best in the city.

Comments: Fairways and tees utilize different varieties of grass since it is an agronomy research center. Plays long. Memorable collection of par 3s. Practice facility is second to none. Free chilled apples on the first tee a bonus!

Comments: Both 18-hole courses are among my top 5 on the trail. Beautiful holes wind through woods and marshland. Water is prevalent. Really crowded on Fridays during football season.

Comments: Highlands course is a really good track, however the other course resides below a flood plain and is the only course on the entire trail without a single bunker.

Comments: Very friendly to junior golf, allowing youngsters to play for free with paying adult. Not a difficult track. Most par 5s are reachable in 2 for better players.
