Comments: Royal Manchester is a wonderful links style course. The course is very well manicured and is a pleasure to play. Bring extra balls because the rough is thick and it can be tough to find balls only a few feet off the fairways. Like most links style courses the greens are large, there is not a lot of shade on the course, and wind has a major effect on your round. Knickers Pub is also very nice and offers great food and a nice beer selection.

Comments: Grandview is a very old course that requires accuracy on most shots. Some holes are very close and fairways are only separated by some rough. I personally don't like the course layout at all, the front 9 has six par 4's while the back only has two par 4's. The back 9 has two par 4's, three par 5's, and four par 3's. Because of all the par 3's the back 9 takes a lot longer than normal to play especially when the course gets crowded. The course recently (2012) got a liquor license so they no longer allow personal coolers. I have only played this course twice and I have very little interest in going back.

Comments: I have always enjoyed Hickory Heights. It is a rather short course at less than 5900 yards, only one par 4 is over 400 yard. I have always felt the front 9 is easier than the back 9. The 10th hole is a double dogleg par 5 that requires three very good long iron shots to get to the green in regulation. The course is fairly well taken care of and is a decent value. Most holes offer some shade and the course is rarely over crowded.

Comments: We thought this was a new links style course after finding them online. Once we arrived we realized it was an older course that did a very minor upgrade and changed the name. This was my least favorite course I have played in years. The holes are extremely close together, we had players on other holes playing from our fairway several times. One hole is a 285 yard par 4 but in order to cut the corner you must hit directly over top the tee box for the last hole. The greens had some kind of a virus, every green contained several shades of green, yellow, and brown. The best thing I can say about the course is that the bar has amazing burgers and a decent beer list.

Comments: Honey Run is a very nice course. It is well maintained and the new renovation to the clubhouse are very nice. The course is long and challenging. They also have the only driving range in the area that your hitting off grass instead of a mat. Overall I really like Honey Run although due to the above average price (for this area anyway) I don't play there very often.

Comments: Briarwood has 36 holes with an East and West course. I recently played the East (old)course. Looking at the scorecard I thought the course appeared very short. Most if not all the par 4's are 350 yards or less. However the course is really well designed, the par 4's are almost all doglegs and most have elevation changes. The course is in very good shape and the rates are reasonable.

Comments: Cool Creek is my "home" course, I play the course on a weekly basis. They have two distinctly different 9's. The front 9 in my opinion is easier than the back 9. The front is mostly flat (hole 4 is down hill & 8 is back up the hill), straight, tree lined holes with two long par 5's. The back 9 is very challenging every hole has elevation changes, holes 12 thru 15 have water in play, holes 12-13-16 are the only par 4's on the course that you cant see the green from the tee box. The best part about Cool Creek is the price. It is the best value in York County. Weekdays after 12 play and ride as many holes as you can play until 5:30 for $18, even on weekends in the morning the rates never go above $40.
