Comments: Winding Ridge is a very fun course on the Northeast side of Indy. It has a bit of everything, from elevated tees, to links-style holes, to beautiful tee boxes. The course is set in the middle of an area that didn't develop the type of neighborhoods it expected, so they don't get as much play as they anticipated. Therefore, the course isn't in great shape. However, if you keep the ball in the fairway, it will be a fun 18.

Comments: Morning Star is a value course on the east side of Indianapolis. It offers golfers of all ability levels a challenging round. It is narrow, with many trees that provide tough second shots. The course isn't in tip-top shape, but is a very fun design. I would get a membership here if my schedule allowed!

Comments: Saddlebrook is a short, fun course with a lot of personality. It winds through neighborhoods, but is wooded enough to feel rural. I have played this course several times at bargain rates, but it is always as fun as the first time. There are many scoring holes, and you don't have to be able to drive it 280 to score. That isn't to say it's easy, as the greens are tough to read.I am a big fan of Saddlebrook!

Comments: Prestwick is a semiprivate course in Avon Indiana. It is the only course in Avon, and thinks too highly of itself. Some of the holes are gimmicky, the prices are high, and the staff has an air of superiority. As far as the golf itself, it does offer some fun holes. The course weaves in and out of nice neighborhoods, along streets, and into the wilderness. It is not a course that allows wayward drives, so make sure you don't spray it too far off target. Overall, it is a nice course that is too exclusive for its own good.

Comments: Oaktree GC is a decent course in Plainfield Indiana. The front nine is very nice, with protected greens, well-kept fairways, and some long holes. The back nine is not nearly as nice, without not much character. I scored well on the 12th, mainly because there are ample chances to recover from any errant tee shots. The rough could use some maintaining as I saw several grass clumps and weeds. However, Oaktree is a decent play at a good rate with availability most days. The staff is also as friendly as can be!

Comments: Twin bridges is one of my favorite courses in the Indianapolis area. The greens are true, the holes are varied, and it is a real second shot course. I have played this course many times, especially on Wednesday when it is about $20 to play. I particularly like the par threes on the course. The only complaint I have is the sand traps are in horrible shape. Other than that, this is a must play for anyone in the greater Indianapolis area.
